Musings on personal growth, books, motherhood, writing, and more. "Every hour is saved from that eternal silence, something more, a bringer of new things." – Tennyson
Today I came across this quote:
“Minds are like parachutes. They only function when open.”
– Thomas Dewar*
I think that line is pretty good, but it could be so much better…how about this?
Your mind is like a parachute: if it’s open, you will fly. If it’s closed, you’re either plunging to a fatal crash or you’re too scared to jump.
I was so pleased with that that I couldn’t save it—I had to do an extra post today to share my sudden flash of inspiration. 🙂
May you courageously jump and soar with the parachute of an open mind.
* I Googled this and there’s a very similar quote attributed to Frank Zappa, along with the usual odd and presumably false quote attributions.
